A Word From Our Owner:
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We are a family-owned business with humble beginnings. I started buying and selling at the age of eight – getting up at 4:00 a.m. to go out selling with my Dad. At the age of 11, I was at an antique show in Massachusetts with my Mom and Dad when I came across a Hot Wheels Collection. My dad entrusted me with $100 to purchase it (which was a lot of money to give a kid in 1976). In just two weeks I sold a handful of the 200 cars and was able to pay my Dad back. I never looked back after that.
At the age of 16, I sold the rest to help pay for my first car. Every weekend and many days after school would be spent buying furniture from house calls. I ran a weekly $3 ad looking to buy antiques. In 1989 I rented a small building to store merchandise and I spent five days of the week selling at flea markets. In 1986 my parents bought a farm, and I converted a small space into a shop, giving me a small building to sell out of. This led to me buying a larger property, and the Shoppes of Kirbyville began. From there, I rented a warehouse and began GRQ Used Furniture. In 2014, my Mom and Dad retired, and I bought the original farm where it all began. The rest is history, and I thank you for being a part of it.
